We must learn to take God at His word—take Him at His word to do whatever He has promised. Two quick examples we will give about this are in Malachi 3:10 and Exodus 23:25. These two portions of scripture practically says the same thing in different words.
“Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, AND TRY ME NOW IN THIS, says the LORD of hosts, if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be enough room to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourers for your sakes, so that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field; and all the nations will call you blessed, for you will be a delightful land, says the LORD of hosts.” Malachi 3:10-12
This scripture is laden with many blessings. In our giving to God’s work, let us take him at His word. He Himself said, ‘in this, prove me’. Whenever you give towards His cause have an expectation of abundance and expect it to be fulfilled. An expectation of so much more. An expectation of an overflow. Expect favour. Expect increase in income as you make the right decisions in your career, business or investment. Expect that there shall be no loss. Expect that there will be no unwanted expenses.
“So you shall serve the LORD your God and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sicknesses away from the midst. No one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days.” Exodus 23:25
As you serve the Lord, key into His word for a prosperous life devoid of sicknesses and diseases. Expect to be fruitful in your body and in your life. If unmarried for example, and God is already talking about your children, rejoice! It means He’s got that covered.
Let’s look at another scripture, “You do not choose me but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.” John 15:16
As you win souls for the Lord and raise disciples. key into this verse and expect His reward. He promised it.
Expect these blessings. These promises should be your experience as you serve the Lord and give. If it is not, you can wait on the Lord in prayers to find out why this isn’t happening. Though we don’t question God, we can ask him questions. He is our Father. Your prayers can be as simple as Lord, what should I be doing that I am not doing or what am I not doing that I should be doing? Pray, listen and take the necessary actions. Never take anything less than what God has promised you in His word.
In Psalm 23, we see the blessedness of having Jesus as our Shepherd. Thank God He is our Shepherd. He knows exactly what we need and makes provisions for them. In Him, there is nothing we lack. He directs, protect and provides.
“The LORD is my shepherd; I have all that I need. He let me rests in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honour to His name. Even walk I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honour me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. Surely goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life and I will live in the house of the LORD forever.” Psalm 23:1-6NLT
There is no question about God loves for us. He loves us as much as He loves Jesus and there is no question about Him being with us. He is ever with us. His presence makes the difference in whatever we may go through or the scheming of men against us. The theology where people’s life go down as a result of the enemy is certainly incorrect. The Lord prepares a table right in the presence of the enemy. Hallelujah!
“…I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that YOU LOVE THEM AS MUCH AS LOVE ME” John 17:23NLT
“Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called the children of God.” I John 3:1
“and I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), to be with you forever—the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive [and take to its heart] because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He (the Holy Spirit) remains with you continually and will be in you.” John 14:16-17
Jesus has died and He has been raised to life. We have received the fulfillment of this promise. You are not without help, comfort, wisdom or power. The Holy Ghost is with us and in us forever. Hallelujah!
The life in Christ is a better and a higher life. There is nothing to lose in the world—the Christ life in you offers much more.
“Come to me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28
Take Him at His word, not by how you feel. There are days you will feel he does not love you or He is not with you. It makes no difference. His word says He is ever with you. Our dealings with God is to be based on faith. More take ever before see clearly what He has promised you, believe and receive them. Expect nothing less. Not just in these few promises shared in this note but in all His promises. In Christ they are all answered with a resounding yes (2 Corinthians 1:20).
