Faith for what it is, is to know and acknowledge God’s will. To put it another way, it is appropriating what grace has made available.
Great faith, as a matter of fact, is born out of an intimate relationship with God.
It is walking with the Lord in the light of his Word.
From the Word and by His Spirit, we get to know his will concerning anything—and we shouldn’t just know! We should go beyond mental assent; We should acknowledge it. To acknowledge is to accept or admit that something is true or real. It is to recognise the authority and the validity of the Word.
If the Word says, “Christ bore my infirmities (Isaiah 53),” that’s it! I don’t need to bear it again. I remembered asking a sick lady over and over again if Christ was indeed flogged before His crucifixion. That sounded like a stupid question right? Watching Passions of the Christ alone tells the story. But getting to see why Jesus was flogged was eye opening for her and that led to her healing.
You see, scriptures say, “by his cuts and bruises you are healed (1 Peter 2:24CEV).” See this as a fact and dislodge sickness. If you weren’t to be sick and now you’re battling with a life threatening sickness, you should know that the thief has sneaked in to kill and destroy (John 10:10).
Dear believer, you’re not the sick trying to get well. You’re the totally restored that has allowed sickness a place. Now kick it out in the name of Jesus. I’m not against medical sciences. The very fact that you visit clinics and hospitals shows that you’re looking for a way out of the sickness or disease!
We also see in scriptures that anyone who can’t provide for his family is worst than an unbeliever (1Timothy 5:8).What a description! Now look at it from this angle, God is our Father and you’re part of His family. He’ll be unjust and unfaithful not to provide for His family—that includes you. All that God is and has is available to you. He is able to supply your needs according to his riches in glory (not according to your own ability) through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). From your end, work hard, excel at what you do and trust His riches in glory.
I could go on and on with examples but the major point is that Faith is nothing more than man plugging to the work God has done and is doing. Just believe.
Believing isn’t a difficult task.If you can believe doubts, you can believe God.
Walk in the light of His Word.
